On this colossal site – the size of a village – Precise have been responsible for the data and fibre optic connections that keep this York site operating.
Working across the site in a variety of locations – including large industrial manufacturing facilities, canteen, production lines, offices – Precise installed a new fibre optic backbone in excess of 10km and multi-core voice cabling at Portakabin’s Head Offices in York…without disrupting their working day.
The existing infrastructure had become unable to deliver the speeds and bandwidth required so a new, high speed single mode fibre optics backbone infrastructure was now required.
Working in confined spaces and at height using power access equipment (e.g. cherry-pickers) the project included Cat 6 copper structured cabling within multiple office and manufacturing buildings.
The project is still on going, but so far we have pulled in over 10km of fibre optic cabling. And there is still more to do!
